Went in monday at 4 pm for induction. They gave me cervidil. That wasn’t bad at all. They left it in until 6:30 am Tues. Then they started me on pitocin. That was fine until about 4 pm. Pitocin was super intense. I wasn’t progressing a ton and got back labor bad. I ended up getting an epidural at around 6/630. I got catheter put in and was doing much better. Around 1 am Wednesday. I started having severe pain like I had to pee and a ton of pressure. I realized at that point that I had not had any real urine output but had been getting an iv fluid drip and been downing water and other fluids. Nurse checked and confirmed it appeared that the catheter was being compressed by him. They tried to resolve but no luck. Eventually decided to remove and reinstall a new one. Couldn’t get the catheter out. They tried everything. Eventually they had to get another nurse to try. In the process they broke my water on accident. That still didn’t help matters and they had to get another nurse to try to get it. They were rotating me and Leo’s heart rate would drop. At first they couldn’t get it back up. Eventually they did. The doctor on call couldn’t be reached and never came by. I was then stuck on my back firmly in that position for the remainder of the delivery. I kept having pressure down low both the urge to pee and poo for about 6 hours after that. I got to the point where I could push. Everything time wise from here is a blur but My husband told me I was pushing for almost 4 hours. On and off the first session they apparently booked an OR for a c-section but let me keep going until it was ready. I did finally start getting actual progress. I couldn’t get him to get under my pelvic bone(I think that is what they said) and stay. Finally I got it and was ready for him to be born but his shoulder got stuck. He ended up going into distress.  At that point the nurse got on the bed and started pushing on my belly to get him out. He still wasn’t coming so they pulled all the nurses on the floor into the room and it got really chaotic. They put me on oxygen and began compressing my belly while the doctor pulled him by the head out of me. When he finally came out he was blue and gray and his head was twisted and super long and thin. I thought he died. I just sobbed asking if he was ok. They rushed to get him squared away. He finally cried and I knew we were good. 
Little man had a fracture in his shoulder but over all healthy. 
I’m still recovering and have some PTSD and anxiety from it but it has helped to finally talk about it.

I developed HELLP syndrome at 36+3 and was admitted instantly with the goal to deliver at 37. Things went downhill so quickly I delivered 2 days later. She was only 4.10 and measured at 33 weeks because the placenta wasn’t functioning fully. Thankfully she is healthy and only had to stay in the NICU for 12 hours!

The day before my due date mild contractions started at 3am. They were about 12 minutes apart. Hubby and I went for a couple of walks during the morning and then after thw afternoon walk they started getting more intense right about 3pm. They were still about 8 to 10 minutes apart. Finally at about 7 pm we went to the hospital as they were between 3-5 minutes apart and about 5 or 6/10. I was checked in triage at 7.15 and was only 2cm. I started bawling. How could I only be 2cm! So they had me walk around for an hour and contractions were about 2-3 minutes apart but not really much more painful. Baby was not as active as they wanted and my BP was a little high so they monitored me for a bit longer. I wasn't in active labor as I hadn't progressed so they sent me home at about 9.30pm. By this time the pain had increased and I was getting nauseated. They gave me some like muscle relaxers or something like that and some smelly stuff for the nausea and sent me home. On the way out I had to stop in the bathroom as I got sick. At home I tried to sleep, but got sick again.  The contractions were all over the board anywhere from less than a minute to 5 minutes. I was having some that were about a 8/10 and others that were about a 6/10 (or I was getting used to them). Couldn't sleep as the pain was practically constant. I asked my hubby to run me a bath. So I soaked for maybe 10 minutes but I was in do much pain I couldn't handle it anymore. Told hubby to call the hospital and ask if there was anything they could give me for the pain, if so I wanted to come back in, if not I would continue to stay home. Well I got out of the tub and could barely stand. Felt like I had to pee constantly. Was trying to get my underwear on but couldn't do it without sitting on the toilet just because of the pain. I noticed what looked like red blood after I peed, so I yelled at my husband that we had to go back to the hospital. I did put a pad on as I still felt I had to pee, water had not broken yet. He was trying to find my pants and I yelled at him to just get me a dress I could pull over as I couldn't seam to bend over w/o severe pain. He got me to the car as I'm starting to basically scream bloody murder. It was probably around 11:45 pm at this point. The pain was off the charts and I was so scared. We live 15 minutes from the hospital but we figured an ambulance would take just as long. My hubby drive like a bat out if hell. Just pausing at lights and stop signs to make sure it was safe and passing everyone he could. (Luckily this was not many this time of night and in the country basically) we should have put our hazards on but didn't think of that st the time! I was screaming in pain and started having a lot of pressure were I felt like I had to push. I kept screaming that the baby was coming! We made it to the ER parking lot and my hubby came and opened my door and said okay let's go. I yelled at him to get me a chair I couldn't walk! So he got that and tried to lock the car which for some reason kept beeping at him do he tried to figure that out as I sat there in horrible pain. Men! 😂 He finally got the car locked and ran me inside, yelled at the lady at the desk she's in labor and just whizzed by to the elevators. There was a nurse there that held the elevator doors for us and helped us get to the maternity ward. I really don't remember many of these details as I was in so much pain. They brought me into triage, some how I was able to get on the bed. It was 12:02 am when I was checked into triage. (I remember laughing in my head because this baby was not waiting any longer past their due date!) They asked if my water broke and I said I didn't think so but I think I had seen blood. So they had me spread my legs to check me and my water came gushing out and all I remember is them saying she's complete and needs to go to delivery, and I was like this is what I was trying to tell you! They asked me to get back in the wheelchair so they could move me to the delivery room, and so said I can't can you just roll be there on the bed?? They agreed and it was all very chaotic. They rushed me down the hallway, they were paging my DR who was in call but called the on staff OB as they were not sure my DR would make it in time. I was asking for drugs and they said they would try he was on his way. We got to the delivery room and they transferred me to the bed. I remember my hubby taking my glasses so I couldn't see well so everything was literally a blur! 😂 They gave me an IV for fluids, told me I couldn't have drugs, stripped me down (good thing I put that dress on as it came off easy!) I remember one nurse next to me telling me to breath as I kept screaming from the pain. Then it was time to push. I don't remember much, just that the nurse kept trying to get me not to scream to focus on pushing. I know I passed out shortly from the pain and my DR dud make it at some point. Then my baby was there on.my chest and I was so exhausted. I had to ask what we had as I couldn't see! It was a baby girl! Hubby said it took me 4 pushes and she was born at 12:23 am. It was the scariest most amazing night of my life.

I was scheduled for an induction when I was 40+1 on 8/19/19 at 8pm. Early in the day I started having back pain that got worse and worse. Around 3:00 after trying a warm bath, I noticed that the pain was constant (5/10 pain) but the severe bursts (7/10)were coming and going... I started timing them but they were longer than what “real contractions” should be and sometimes just 1-2 mins apart, other times 7 mins. My parents came over at 5:00 and my mom made us leave for the hospital early because I looked like I was keeling over in pain at this point. But I felt absolutely nothing in my belly, so I kept thinking these couldn’t be contractions.
We got to triage and I could hardly keep my focus to explain the situation of a scheduled induction but some weird pain I was having. It seemed like she didn’t think I was in labor yet and just said my room wasn’t ready yet. We wait and waited while I was in so much pain. I finally got a room and was checked... 4 cm and most definitely in labor. Still ONLY back pain. 
After several hours of constant pain, I was 5cm... I asked the nurse how long the epidural would take once I asked for it. She said it would be super quick. I finally asked for it once my pain was a 9/10... I was shaking and could hardly speak to ask for. STILL no contraction sensation in my belly and the pain was CONSTANT. I did so much research and felt better hearing that people said you would have relief in between contractions... nope. The anesthesiologist ended up taking 45 minutes! Ugh should have asked for it sooner 😑 After the epidural, I was 6cm... I felt like a million bucks and finally slept. 
The next afternoon it was time to start pushing (baby was still pretty high)... 3 hours later and my midwife finally realizes that baby is “sunny side up”... the OB/GYN joins us and decides he will  need to stick his hand up you know what and turn the baby’s head 😬 He attempted this 3 times—this was absolutely the most agonizing pain and I would not wish it on anyone. And I probably wouldn’t say yes to it if I had to do it over, it was traumatizing. In between rounds of this torture, I even told my husband that this was the worst day of my life (of course knowing that the best moments of my life were close!) 1 hour more of pushing and then he tries the vacuum. It was unfortunately not successful, so I needed an emergency c-section. I somehow had 2nd degree tears too from all the pushing so needed stitches and was so close to needing a blood transfusion. I was terrified of surgery so my eyes were shut the entire time and I think I was sobbing through most of it. I felt like such a failure 😞
When baby was born on 8/20/19 at 1:18pm, those hours of pure Hell didn’t matter. He is perfection ❤️ He measured average sized my entire pregnancy and even before the surgery, my doctor guessed he’d be 7 pounds (even after turning his head!)... he was 9lb 8oz!

I started contracting at 6pm but it was only mild then progressively got worse at 10pm. The. I fell asleep for an hour or so and woke up in misery. Finally went to the hospital at 6am.. got checked and only at a 2! I was so upset that after 12 hours of labor at home I wasn’t further along. bUT........Checked 40 minutes later and I was at a 4. So got admitted and within just 2 hours I was at an 8!! Got to a 10 very soon after and baby girl was born at 10:26 am :)

I started contracting hard at home around 3:30am probably. Got hubby up and we got to the hospital around 5am and I had my daughter by 12:51pm! I was 6cm by the time we got to the hospital. Whirl wind, but glad it was fast!

I went to my obgyn on Tuesday 7/23 for my 38 week appointment (I was 38+2)... he said I wasn’t dilated at all and told me to have sex and walk a lot. He said he would let me go 1 week past my due date (due 8/4) so I still had time. The next day I had the cleaning lady at my house and I was basically cleaning along side her. She was finishing the lower level of my house and my husband and I had sex for the first time in forever. I laid down for a little after and when she told us she was done, we started getting ready to take her home around 5:15pm. I got off my bed took about 3 steps and my water broke. Since I’m a ftm I wasn’t 100% sure it was my water so I waited a few minutes and it kept coming out in little gushes. I called my doctor and he told me to head to the hospital. We got there pretty quickly... they checked me and confirmed it was my water that broke. They hooked me up to a monitor and saw that I was contracting every 2-5 minutes, although I didn’t feel anything and I wasn’t dilated at all. Around 10:30pm they started me on pitocin. It took about 12 hours for me to dilate to 4cm. My doctor thought I would end up with a c section since I wasn’t dilating too quickly and I was approaching the 24 hour mark since my water broke. I did get an epidural around 4:30am. They checked me again around 12:30pm and I was fully dilated. My doctor stopped the epidural and I felt pain like nothing I’ve ever experienced in my life. I could barely push the contractions hurt so bad. I kept telling them I couldn’t do it anymore it hurt so bad and to just give me a c section. Of course they wouldn’t and I kept pushing. My doctor had to use the suction because baby’s head wouldn’t stay out. Finally at 2:08pm I delivered my little girl. My husband and I didn’t know the baby’s gender and it was the best surprise of my life!

I delivered at 36 & 3 on 8/23. I was diagnosed with cholestasis and then by my blood pressure started getting high (mostly upper 130s-140s/80s, but that is high for me) and my platelets we’re dropping so we induced.
I had a really good experience with the induction and labor (and I was originally planning to try to do unmedicated and start at home as long as possible. I was 1 cm dilated, 50% effaced, and baby was at -2 station when the induction began. At 8am they started misoprostal. We had been at the hospital since 3am, and I hadn’t really slept the two days prior because of the cholestasis (stillbirth is the big concern) so I napped for an hour and then watched TV. After the first dose (4 hours) I was 2cm dilated and 70% effaced, baby still at -2. I tried to sit/move in positions to help, but I was also hooked up to the monitor most of the time. The second dose gave me light cramps which felt like period cramps but we’re fine and very easy to deal with. The contractions ere there but not consistent. After that (4:30pm) I was 3cm, 70% effaced, with baby at -2. They moved me to L&D and started pitocin around 5:30. I counted on a yoga ball and moved around a bit, but they didn’t want me to do much because of the blood pressure. At 11pm I was 4cm dilated, 70% effaced with baby at -2 still. The contractions still felt like period cramps, maybe a 2-3 in pain rating. I could easily talk through and ignore them. My doctor broke my water around 11:30 and the contractions ramped up. They were much much more intense and one on top of another. I went an hour and a half without an epidural. In the beginning I was coping well but I was so so tired and thought I had a lot of time left, so I decided to get the epidural to nap. I was worried it would stall labor, or I wouldn’t be able to walk, or it would make me more likely to tear, but none of these fears were true. I got it and slept 45 mins and then I woke up and needed to push. The nurse got the doctor and I was 9.5cm (2 hours after they broke my water), and she had me give a light push then said I was ready! The nurse and doctor said they thought I was probably 8cm when I got the epidural and going through transition (I agree now, I ethnographies I was going to be sick and felt helpless and was t able to manage my contractions well anymore) but After the birth the epidural actually became necessary so I am glad that I got it. The epidural wasn’t too strong and was already starting to wear off. I pushed for 2 hours (he came down very quick but his hand was up at his face so it took a long time to get him over the public bone) and by the second hour the epidural completely wore off (I could’ve administered more but didn’t want it). I will tell you the ring of fire is real and I get it for 5-6 contractions, but I think because it was so long to get him out I had zero tearing. The relief I felt when he came out was crazy! I had a retained placenta which needed to be manually removed (rare but serious, it causes hemorrhaging) and was so thankful the epidural was placed for that since they were able to give me more so I didn’t feel it (when I looked it up it’s supposed to be excruciating pain without the drugs). Baby was 6lb 13oz and 19 inches long, born at 3:43am. 
All seemed great the first few hours, but baby was grunty and ended up needing a CPAP for a few hours to get his lungs going correctly. He went up around 7am and was off and breathing on his own at 4pm, but because of the CPAP they placed him on an IV of fluids which he had to be weaned off of (a slow process). My recovery was amazing (I was fine to walk around 3 hours later and the swelling was gone within 2 days) so I was up to see him for every feeding. He was there for 3 days and then discharged with no issues. We gave him my pumped colostrum and periodically breastfed and supplemented with formula in the NICU.It was hard but I am grateful that he was delivered safely and everything was fine! My milk came in once he was discharged and I stopped having to give him formula. He dropped 11oz those first few days, but started gaining quickly after. He’s been EBF and at his 8 week appointment he was 12lb 12oz, 24in long with a 16in head! 
I ended up with post partum preeclampsia and had to stay in the hospital for 5 days after the baby was born, he was discharged from the NIcU into my room. I’ve never had high blood pressure and it was something I never even considered. They had to mess around with medicine doses but finally got it to where they released me. Once at home I had to take BP medicine and take my blood pressure 6x a day, but everything was fine, and I was able to stop after 2 weeks. Since then my BP has been low, like 106/60. I managed to have no tearing or hemorrhoids and was able to move around easily and start yoga 1 week postpartum. I did end up with a little piece of placenta that was still retained- I still had bleeding 8 weeks postpartum so they did an ultrasound to check. I had a D&C 1 week ago at 9 weeks postpartum, it was relatively quick and straightforward. Even though I had some complications I still feel very positive about my whole birth and postpartum experience.
