Do you think it’s silly?

Do you think it’s silly that my boyfriend and I have talked about kids and things like that when we’ve only been together for 5 months? I always see couples on here having big relationship problems because they have completely different opinions on kids, marriage etc and everyone tells them this should be discussed way before they get this deep into the relationship. I feel like an idiot for discussing this with my boyfriend, but we’ve talked about it a couple times. I do not want kids, I can’t even stand being around babies or little kids so I’d never compromise on having a kid for my SO, and he said he’s not too bothered about kids so guess we’re good 🤷🏼‍♀️ obviously we’ve only been together for 5 months and that’s why I feel stupid for discussing this already because who knows if we’ll still be together in a few years lol

Well ideally the dating stage you’re in now, is when you should be finding out about each others values, what you want from a relationship, etc. 
It’s how you decide whether your compatible or not, by having those sorts of conversations. So I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all.

Me and boyfriend were talking about if we wanted kids around the same time and maybe even a little bit earlier. You don’t have to feel weird about taking about stuff like that.  It might seem early to other people but it only matters what you guys think and you should be ok with that. It’s good that y’all had this conversation early in the relationship anyways so if you guys are still together that’s one thing that you both agree on already.

I asked my boyfriend on our 2nd date if he wanted kids, now we have been together for 11 months. Getting married in 3,5 weeks 🎉

I moved in with husband after 3/4 months. Hasn't even said I love you yet. I knew at 6 months I wanted to marry him. He talked about it A few weeks earlier. 
Its not weird because that's progression. Before we even meet he asked if I would ever get married again and if I wanted more kids.

No, it's not too early to be discussing these things. Kids, marriage, religion, politics; those are things that both parties should be up front about very early on because they are probably the most dividing issues around between couples. You don't want to waste your time with someone that has very different ideas than you because it likely won't work out, or you'll have to agree to disagree which usually means not talking about it and avoiding the subject which isn't healthy either. Would you rather break up over a nonresolvable issue after 5 months or 2 years? It's smart to discuss that stuff.

Kids can be an absolute deal breaker for some couples so it’s really important to know where you stand on that 🤷🏻‍♀️
Anyway my SO and I talked about how many kids we potentially would want and even baby names we liked when we’d been dating for a MONTH, and now we’ve been married 2 years and have our first baby so I can’t judge 😂😂😂 and yeah, we used a name we decided on during that conversation lol

That’s generally something brought up on the first date for me and as time goes by we have a deeper discussion about it. Five months isn’t weird at all. I wouldn’t want to spend my time getting to know, develop feelings for, with something that could have been discussed way before and come to find out we are on completely different pages with.

Not silly at all. You know what you want and it's best to tell him so neither of you are wasting eachothers time and are on the same page. 
My fiance and I were talking about marriage before being together we were known as "work husband and wife" in our company 😂

Not silly at all. You don’t want kids so I think it’s very considerate that you felt the need to mention that to him now before it goes further. Me & my man were discussing our views on kids & marriage within a few months of dating as well, I’m the opposite of you I want kids & a big family by any means necessary meaning if I can’t carry my own children naturally I’ll seek medical support to help with that if that doesn’t work I’ll try surrogacy if that doesn’t work I’ll try adoption like no matter what I want children that bad so I had to make sure me & my partner were on the same page because that’s non-negotiable, same goes for marriage that’s a mandatory goal for us.
