Has anyone given their LO amoxicillin yet?

My daughter has had a cold for going on three weeks. I took her to the Dr today and he didn't see an ear infection or anything crazy but said he was going to prescribe amoxicillin in case of a sinus infection. She has been extremely congested and unable to sleep. Has anyone used amoxicillin yet and how was it on your baby? She is six months today.

Haven't with my May baby, but he has had to take Cefdinir (different class of antibiotic for infections) continually since birth 😟
My first had to take amoxicillin before 1 year. Ask the pediatrician and the pharmacist about any precautions to take while on it. Mine recommended probiotics to prevent diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and rash. Amoxicillin doesn't always cause diarrhea but it can for some. It was more a "safe than sorry" suggestion. If you do add the probiotics (with pediatrician recommendation) then they need to be taken hours apart from the antibiotics, so pick times accordingly.

My son just finished his 10 days on it for an ear infection. It upset his tummy and he pooped like crazy thus got a bad rash. Other then that he was fine.

I did for a little bit. I started slow cause sometimes the amoxicillin can cause a butt rash from it taking all the good bacteria out too. But baby was fine we did it at like 3 months old
