Rules around posting on social media
What are your general rules around family posting photos of your little one on social media?
Do you ask them to ask you first? Let you know ahead of time? Go for it?
Just asking because my husband and I got on this evening to find my mom had posted almost 100 photos and videos of our child on Facebook from her most recent visit - some of which I’d forwarded her from my own phone (more photos than necessary because I thought she’d just pick out which ones she liked best of her and our daughter and maybe post one or two, but she posted all of them).
We are very selective with what we post online. We try not to over share photos of our personal life or our baby. It’s our own personal decision and I’m just shocked with my mom knowing and seeing that (When she was first born we discussed this very thing. Hell, even prior to a baby, I asked my grandmother to take photos down from my wedding a few years ago when she posted an album of hundreds of photos before we’d even shared a photo of our day ourselves. All conversations she was present for.) she would overstep the boundaries so far.
I’ve already asked her to narrow down her favorites and take the rest down. Now I’m getting the silent treatment and preparing myself for the inevitable guilt trip. Just wondering where everyone else stands on this.
