Anxiety levels rising

Helen • 💛FTM to one sweet baby girl 5.7.19💛

My daughter has been battling her first cold all weekend and has finally started to feel like herself minus the coughing and runny nose. Anyway. Tonight I checked baby girl’s nose before bed to make sure she was clear and we gave her a small bit of Tylenol to alleviate any symptoms. I nurse her to sleep and after about 20 mins (she’s still latched on, but asleep and if I take her off, she wakes up), she starts getting choked up. She’s coughing and choking and throws up a little bit. She seems to regain composure and then starts coughing and gagging again! This time she throws up heavily and I am freaking out because she is seriously choking as I’m patting her back furiously. She settles down, but is now 100% awake. I change her, drop some saline into her nose and suction as much of the mucus as I could. I fed her again and now she’s sleeping in her bassinet with the humidifier running, but I am scared y’all. My husband keeps telling me to calm down, she’s fine, but he wasn’t there to hear her choking, he could only hear her cough from the other room.

I guess I’m typing this all out to vent and maybe hear that I’m not totally insane for being completely on edge now (FTM!). My eyes have been glued to this monitor for 2 hours now. If I could squeeze into that bassinet with her I would. 😞
