Anybody know about metronidazole 500 mg?

Just asking cause my doctor just gave me this to take and when I Google it says it's for trich which I am hella confused cause I just got tested for this at the er and it came back negative..so this means ive been having trich for a long time! I'm looking forward to having kids soon I really pray this doesn't stop me from conceiving.

It's quite a strong antibiotic. Make sure you take it with food- not on an empty stomach, and don't drink alcohol with it as it'll give you the trots. It's used from dental pain across the board- usually when amoxicillin won't be as effective.

I think it’s odd your Dr prescribed you something, but didn’t tell you why? Call back and ask. I never take a prescription not knowing why
