What to expect on first appointment

Question

I am 5w5d with my first pregnancy.  My doctor appointment is on the 14th, what should I expect? Do I not get an ultrasound? The nurse said I need to come in with a full bladder to do a urine test and they will take some blood. I have a crazy feeling I am pregnant with twins, is that something I will find out on the 14th? Or is there another appointment after that for a ultrasound?

When I was preggo with my first, they had me see the nurse practitioner first. She gave me info and precautions. I then peed in a cup for the pregnancy test. And that was it. In my next exam I saw the doctor and then got a sonogram. It was a different version where they put a probe in the vagina (not the belly one). It was cool to see the little peanut.

With my son I took a test at home on September 28th and it was positive and then had my pregnancy confirmed at a clinic on October 1, and then had my first appointment with my OB on October 29th. I was around 8 weeks then I think! 
With this pregnancy I took a test November 4 and it was positive. I don’t have to go to a clinic to get a note this time since I’m an established patient so we’re just waiting until I’m 8 weeks and they’ll do the pregnancy confirmation at that appointment on November 26th. I’ll be 7w3d according to my cycle.

My first appointment was just a pelvic exam and the do’s and don’ts of prenatal care. They scheduled me a sonogram for 7.5 weeks gestation (i went in at 4 w 2 d). At that appointment they will do my bloodwork and I will see our peanut

My first appointment is nov 25 and I’ll be 8 weeks 4 days according to my last cycle and when I made the appointment she told me I was going to have an ultrasound and also see the dr the same day....all practices are different so I would call them and just ask them if you will be getting an ultrasound or not. Most ultrasounds this early will be vaginal ultrasounds as the baby’s aren’t big enough to pick up through your tummy yet. - hope this helped you
