**Disclaimer: this will be long**

Hey girls so, my mom has been talking to this man for a few months that claims he is in the military. She has never met him before and she has talked to him and video chatted him multiple times. But I’m just scared that he might be a scammer because of some unexplainable things he has said. My bf is in the army and I want to ask him so many questions, but he’s going to AIT and he won’t be able to talk to me for awhile, so I can’t really ask him.

I’m just wondering how do you know if someone is a scammer?

Here’s a few reasons why it raises my concerns that this man my mom is in love with might be one:

-he told my mom that he loved her so fast

-my mom received an artificial rose gift from amazon from him, but the address was from Nevada-

but he’s asserts that he is in Yemen and supposedly before his mission to Yemen he lived in Texas so why is the gift from Nevada?

-he says he needs money so he can call his kids and for other things (but I thought soldiers had access to their bank account?)

-he says he has kids and that are with the government

-he says he got a divorced and that his ex was a drug addict and fled to another country and now he has full custody

-says he’s part of special forces(but I thought that was secretive to say)

-he says his parents are deceased

-when he calls my mom his voice does not sound like an American accent.

-he calls my mom more than video chats her...he says that the camera is down or something (but my mom has seen his face before on life video, so idk)

What are characteristics of a “military” scammer? I just need to know what I should do? I want to help my mom and prevent danger to happen to her. She also doesn’t know what to do and I feel bad. :( please help
