Hello Ladies....

Okay. So let me just start off by saying wow. I can’t believe my body went thorough what it’s been through in the past two years. From the birth of my son to the birth of my daughter it’s crazy and amazing what our bodies can go through and withhold. So.... I’ve come to share my lovely birth story of my daughter. Sorry it’s going to be kind of long.

It’s started November 5th at 8 in the morning. I started having little cramps not too much pain, nothing I can’t get through. As the time got later it was closer to 9 I started feeling them a little more so I called my ob to just play it safe. She had told me to head to labor and delivery as they were coming every 3-4-5 mins and they were 1-2 mins apart. As I start rushing to pack my sons bag as I have to bring him with me for my mother to come and get him. Me, my fiancé, and my son rush to leave the house with all 20 different bags and car seats etc... We finally make it to the hospital as they admit me into a room around 10. The first thing they have done was check my cervix in which I was 5cm and 80% effaced at that point. I was having contractions but nothing too crazy. They asked me about a million times if I wanted any pain medication or even the epidural and of course I just kept saying no as I wanted this pregnancy to be like my son which was completely natural. Well hours later around 12:30-1:00pm they come in to check my cervix again in which I was still 5cm and 80% effaced... as I’m waiting for the time to pass it’s now 3:30-4:00pm they come to check me again and guess what? Still NO progression same old 5cm and 80 effaced. They decide to start me on pitocin to help labor progress more. They started me off slow on 1 which it wasn’t working then went to 2 and then 3 in which at that given moment I was experiencing all HELL. I was in so much pain and begged to be checked again around 5:30 in which I was 7cm and 90% effaced. I was so happy I was progressing but upset as I had to go through so much pain. I begged and cried for something to help with the pain anything but the epidural... so they put a prescription in for a narcotic to help ease my suffering a little. As I’m waiting the pains are only getting worse and I couldn’t do it anymore I wanted to know everything and anything about the epidural I wanted it right then and there. I cried the 20 mins waiting for them to do it. Finally I get the epidural and I slowly feel my body go numb and the pain go away... it was amazing, I felt like such a weight was just lifted from me. They decide to break my water at 6:15 and as soon as they did that at 7cm dilated I felt the complete urge to push. Poop, baby, both just wanted to come out.. I then realized I popped in the bed in which the nurses had to clean it (sorry). I had told them my daughter was right there and they didn’t believe me.. in which resulted in them finally deciding to check where as soon as they moved the blanket they saw her cute little peach fuzz she had. The ob and all other nurses rushed in for me to push in which I felt nothing at all. Thank you epidural!! 2 contractions and 6 pushes and my little girl was in my arms at 6:35pm. My beautiful baby girl was 7lbs, 7.2oz. I couldn’t be any more proud of myself.
