Membrane sweep- not dialated

I am 38 wks pregnant and went in for my weekly appointment yesterday. My dr asked if I’d wanted a membrane sweep and I excitedly said yes.

Unfortunately when she went to do the sweep, she told me my cervix is still completely closed so there was nothing to be done but that it was worth a shot and we’d try again next week. When I got to my car, I started crying. I’m so anxious and don’t know what to do at this point. I thought at this point, I’d be at least 1 cm along.

She did cause me to bleed a little bit and I spotted the smallest amount last night and this morning but other than that, nothing. She told me that was to be expected so I shouldn’t really worry about that at all. I was having contractions up until a day or two ago and even they stopped now.

Any words of advice? Or suggestions?
