Traveling. Is Zika a concern still?

I have been planning a trip from the USA to Cancun and just found out I am pregnant. I will be about 16 weeks when I am planning to go. Does any one know if Zika is still prevalent? Or who's doctors okayed travel to this country? I dont have my first appointment for a couple weeks and just want to ensure it is safe to go. Thanks.

I would check the recommendations on the CDC website. Based on that site (which most physicians refer to) Current Zika risk in Mexico is the same as the US, with no active outbreaks since last year. I will be traveling there for a wedding in the second trimester, and my OB was supportive and recommended bug spray and long, protective clothing.

We had to cancel our honey moon with my first because Zika is still in Cancun. My dr advised against it. Also only 1 in 5 people get symptoms of Zika so you can contract it and not know it.

Zika is a concern anywhere it’s warm and humid.  I just wore OFF Deep Woods, covered up, and had zero issues.  My midwives didn’t have any concerns.

I believe it's still a concern. We went to Puerto Rico at the beginning of the year before I got pregnant, and my doctor advised waiting 90 days after we got back to try to conceive to make sure we were clear of any risk of Zika being in our systems.

Maybe call your OB to check? Or do some research? My dr is very against her patients traveling anywhere that could potentially have zika. Could just be her though🤷🏻‍♀️
