Sharpie on diapers

At my shower my sister had everyone write notes on diapers for us for “late night diaper change” fun. My son is finally in that size diaper but every time I use one of them the sharpie rubs off on the inside of his clothes and does not wash out. and it does show through as most of his clothes are not dark. Anyone have any ideas what we can do? It’s close to an entire box of diapers that I’d rather not waste but I also don’t want to ruin his clothes.
