I posted on here about getting and IUD (UPDATE)
Just last week I was chanting and showing so much excitement about getting my mirena IUD put in well let me tell you my experience..
Last Friday I came in to my OBGYN office to get my IUD put in . My OBGYN has a PA she’s been working for him for 10 years now so she’s not new at all . She put in my IUD and I can not express how horrible and how much excruciating pain I was in. It was horrible . I was on the verge of fainting . I immediately went pale my ears were ringing I couldn’t see my vision went dark I remember almost fainting but the PA and nurse gave me water and had me lay back down . I laid in this cold room halfway undressed for 30 mins because that’s how sick I got from the procedure . Finally I felt okay to go home but the coming hours and days was just horrible as well . I’ve been having stabbing pains to my left side of my abdomen and felt horrible pains in my uterus . Everyone said your okay this is normal but I knew it wasn’t . Every time I was in pain I had to clutch my body and stay still because I felt like someone was literally stabbing me with a knife . I finally called my doctors office on Monday to be seen because I knew something wasn’t right . Keep in mind this wasn’t my first time having a IUD in 2015 I got the para guard put in after my first child and I NOT ONCE FELT THIS WAY NOT EVEN WHEN IT WAS PUT IN . So today Tuesday I come in and they do a ultrasound on me she immediately was concerned because she said she couldn’t see it in my uterus so she said go empty out your bladder and we are gonna do a vaginal . So I get my vaginal done and still NOTHING . So I’m currently waiting for a doctor to come in and see if he can see my strings poking out of my cervix . If not we have to order a X-RAY to make sure it’s not in my abdomen because I’m still having stabbing pains to only my left aide of my abdomen.. I had a great experience with my first so I’m in NO WAY BASHING my doctors PA or his office or even getting a IUD. But every time is different and you never know if your gonna fall in that small percentage of women who will experience what I did ..
UPDATE: just got my X-ray done and long and behold the stabbing pains I’ve been having on my left side are because the iud poked out of my uterus and is somewhere near my hip area . Looking forward to surgery to get it removed . Never getting another IUD AGAIN . Just wanted to update you ladies .
