Sleep schedule change
Background: my husband and I have only 1 car, and he doesn’t have his license due to his eyesight and not feeling comfortable driving. We have two sons: 2 years & 4.5 months. Their current sleep schedule is 8/8:30pm - 7/7:30pm.
The struggle: my husband just got a new job making $2 more an hour, with lots of overtime, so it’s a blessing, the only thing is that it’s night shift. He works 5pm to 3:30/4am. Having only one car, I have to be the one to take him to work and pick him up, and he works 25 minutes away. I’m thinking that to make this easier on everyone, it might be nice to change all of our sleep schedule. My idea is that since we leave to take him to work at about 4:20, ideally me and the boys would come home and go straight to bed at about 5:30. This would put their sleep time from 5:30/6pm-3am give or take a little if they sleep in the car either direction. I’d love if they slept again in the car for taking him to work (about an hour in the car), but this schedule is for if they don’t sleep in the car. Do you think this would work? Is it even possible or okay for them? I’m mostly concerned with my toddler, as my 4.5 month old doesn’t care and will sleep any time lol,
I’m open to any advise!! Especially if any of you have done something similar.
Also, I work 8am-12pm/1pm so basically my 2 year old could nap at about the time I go to work. He’s used to getting a 2 hour nap every day, but I’m sure this may increase in length if we do switch to this schedule since it’s less night time sleep than he’s used to.
