Diy bayalage?

Question

Has anyone done a DIY bayalage at home and what did you use? I had bayalage done abiut six months ago but feel the root area needs a touch up ! My stylist is charging me the price of a full bayalage just to touch up a few areas? I don't know if that's even right or if she is overcharging me ! 
Could I do it myself at home and get good results ? Need some advice and recommendations !

As a hairstylist I know they shouldn’t charge you full price. I would call around to other salons and see what they are charging and maybe find someone new. 
Ive been a stylist for 13 years and I would never even try to do a balayage on myself that is something you definitely want a professional to do.

They shouldn’t charge full price for a root touch up. If you aren’t experienced in dying your own hair please dont try to do something like this by yourself

I used to be the GM for one of the top salons in Manhattan. They charge the same price because it takes the same amount of time for your colorist to section off the balayage highlight pattern for the touch up. 
What wouldn’t be correct is if they charged the same price for a partial balayage as a full balayage. 
As the others said, I wouldn’t do it yourself. Spend the money to have it done right the first time. Worst case you end up messing your color up and go from a balayage touch up to a full on color correction. Lots of places offer this technique, so if you aren’t comfortable with their price-point you can go elsewhere. 
Most beauty schools take clients at rock bottom prices because they need hands on experience.
