What’s the best numbing cream for getting a tattoo? It’s my first one and I’m getting it on my upper spine.

Ask your artist, I know when we were working on finishing my sleeve before I moved out of state  my artist had a numbing spray that he would use in between working on spots so that way we could have longer sessions.

I have yet to use any such numbing cream with each tattoo I have.  I actually make myself an ice pack afterwards if the burning or itching sensations become unbearable.
I have a friend who got a tattoo from a different shop and they used the numbing cream on him.  He hated it because it does work.  It took the artist longer to get the tattoo done instead.

That is where I got my 1st tattoo when I was 18. I found it didn't hurt much at all. I have my whole upper back tattooed now and by far the easiest place to get done.
