Is the name Maverick popular where you live? If so where do you live? Just curious because I’m a history freak and always have loved old names especially cowboy names, because heh my husband and I are horse people, this name I picked out when I was 15 in 2014 and now all of a sudden I hear it’s popular? Like damn maybe I should’ve got pregnant earlier?😂 lol just kidding. I’m from Wisconsin but live in Iowa now and have never met or heard of a kid named Maverick.

My son (6 months old) is Maverick 🤣 We had literally never met someone with that name. Since we had him we have met/seen 3 other families with kids named Maverick. In Southeast United States.

I’d pick it again in a heartbeat though lol it’s suits him.

I teach at an elementary school and we have zero kids named Maverick. There is one in our high school but that’s all.

The oldest Maverick I know is in his late 20s. His family are ranchers. We have a handful of younger Mavericks here, but it’s still not as popular as other names. Go for it!

You can search names on the social security website and also see the top 100 names by state. Last year, Maverick was the 23rd most popular boy name in Iowa and 93 boys were given that name. It’s number 73 in the US for boys, so it seems v popular in your state. I personally know of 4 or 5 in my town in Oregon. 
However, it’s still not in the top 20 so if you love it, use it! Or maybe for a middle name. Something like Wade Maverick would be cute!
