Early ovulation and spotting

Doing my opk,looks like I'm about to ovulate 2/3 days early. Also af was a day early this cycle. Now I'm spotting and I don't usually bleed apart from af at any point. Is this normal for anyone else?. My cycles usually run like clock work so this has confused me. My OH works away and is only home at the weekends so I thought maybe I'd ovulate the day after he's home. Pretty gutted! We are going for ivf next year but still trying ttc naturally for now. So I'm hoping harder than usual atm
