New retainer?

I’ve had the same retainer for a long time probably 5-10 years. It’s now breaking and permanently gross despite me trying to clean it. Can I request a new one? I got it after having braces and I’d like to continue wearing it becasue I feel like my teeth with start to move back to the way they were otherwise

Go ask your orthodontist how to clean it. My daughter just got her braces off and she is supposed to clean it with the denture cleaning tablets weekly. I am sure there is another heavy duty cleaner for it. I know it will cost me 200$ to replace it  and after 10 years they will likely want to take another Mold of your teeth to build another.

You can definitely ask for a new one. Though mine was so gross (I’ve had it for 10 years) and I was sure it was beyond repair, but my dentist actually miraculously cleaned it somehow and it looks brand new now!
