At this age the only things they can see clearly are between 8-12 inches from their face. Newborns' eyesight is terrible so it will look like they're staring into space a lot... because most things are just a big blurry blob right now! Their eyesight gets better as they get older though. 😊

Most of the time yes completely normal like everyone says newborn vision isnt that good however if it keeps occuring or other symptoms arrise please mention to doctor. My son started this at 3 weeks and it was a type of seziure (not saying yours is at all) just saying keep eye on it for other symptoms
