So my niece is starting to get into Barbies and that’s the request for Christmas. I have to admit I am dealing with my own disgust/bias with those blonde dolls and thinking they give too narrow a view of the world.

Am I overthinking this by wanting to get her a couple of dolls of multiple races that are the career focused ones? Like engineer, doctor, zoo rescuer. Or should I just get one that looks like her (blonde) and has a lot of dress up clothes?

I have such a hard time knowing what is “fun” for a kid.
