PG movies for 3, almost 4, year old kids?

Idk how I feel about this. I wanna preserve their innocence but my husband is pushing to play PG movies for them. I feel like it’s because he gets bored watching the age-appropriate, G-rated movies and shows such as Daniel Tiger, Magic School Bus, and Mister Rogers Neighborhood. But I’m like why do we need to rush this? Just let them be kids and not expose them to language/behaviors they don’t need to be exposed to yet... Agree? Disagree? If you agree what’s a good way to convince him of this

I mean, the point of the PG rating is that there’s content in it that parents may want to provide guidance to their children on while watching. Depending on the movie I would probably okay it if one of you can provide that guidance. There are a lot of Disney movies that are rated PG that don’t even have anything close to “adult” content (like Moana for example) that are just rated that because they might be a little scary for a younger kid. But then there are also movies rated PG that I wouldn’t dream of showing to a three year old (like Jaws, lol, which I think came out before PG13 existed). I would honestly approve movies individually rather than just approve one rating across the board.

There's a website called common sense media and it gives opinions from kids and parents about what a good age is to watch a specific movie.

agree. i didn't start watching pg movies until i was about 8 or 9. pg is definitely not appropriate for 3 year olds.

I would decide movie by movie. Very few movies are G rated.

So you don’t let your kids watch frozen? Moana? Things like that? Idk it’s just a rating to me and I don’t see a problem with my 4 year old watching certain movies.

I think it's a case by case basis.. and your opinion/perception is what you should go off of... Not necessarily the blanket rating.
Talk with your hubby about what you think is okay.. like is certain language okay, certain concepts, something that your kid might find scary, etc. Then go off of that.
I personally wouldn't let my 3/4 yo watch a PG movie by themselves unless I've seen it first and know the content.
