How to help baby not become sick?

Currently at my parents house for thanksgiving and my cousins kids (both 3 years old) have congested coughs. My cousins said they aren't sick and have had the cough for a month but I'm so worried my 3.5 month old is going to get sick! The kids don't have fevers but just are coughing non stop and don't cover their mouths!

Leave...literally your cousins should not have come and brought their children to dinner OR they should have given you a warning so that you can decide whether you want to risk exposing your child to whatever they have. A cough for over a month - id be very concerned and angry if they gave you no heads up

Yes I’d leave. We currently have a very poorly baby as our MIL decided it was ok to bring our 2 year old nephew to our house who had a terrible cough and apparently has had it for weeks. But she assured us he was fine and wasn’t ill 🙄

Babies get sick.. that’s how they build an immune system. It’s not fun but it’s all part of growing up. I’m assuming that your children aren’t in daycare because my son has been getting sick since he started being around other kids. It’s how it is. You can’t keep kids in a bubble.

My husband and i both just had this wicked cold and i non stopped whiped the baby face and hands all day every day. Lysol. Vicks on the feet. Sleep with humidifier. And i gave some stored breast milk. There are a million bacteria fighting cells in breast milk i highly suggest even going with donoted breast milk in this case. Babies this young being sick is worth it.

Maybe ask for them to be in another room or keep the baby away and in another room

Might be fine, just fine let them touch the baby. Our friends came over with their daughter who was coughing and had a bad runny nose and luckily our 3 month old didn’t get sick, but I held him the entire time they were over.
