Ok so it’s our 4 year anniversary and his birthday in the next 2 weeks.

He recently got into fantasy basketball lol so I saved for months and got him raptors tickets and the fanciest hotel in Toronto for our anniversary/birthday weekend... he does not know about the game I said I wanted a weekend in Toronto (I’m paying for hotel and he’ll pay for dinner and whatever) that’s his bday surprise (the game is 2 days after)

I told his mom I was saving. To not get them. To not book anything that weekend. I told her we were busy every weekend (with both sides of their family dinners) until the new year.

His mom tells him to leave the 29th free for something with his brother.. our friends-Christmas party was already planned for said day.

He is impatient and said he googled the date and no concerts were playing so he’s excitedly assuming it’s for a raptors game. So I asked her.

And she fucking got him tickets for the same fucking week as our anniversary weekend...3 days after the game I bought.... After I told her hard I saved and how important it was to me... like oh my god!!!!!!

She looked me dead in the eyes and made the *shit I’m caught think of an excuse* expression we know so well. She said ticketmaster had them for a good sale.... bullshit... she said oh no it’s different it’s for Christmas... not the fucking point. I confided in you and you have done this shit to me 3 times.

I spend 45 minutes crying to my parents on the phone I was sooooo upset...

Thanks for reading my rant lol but yah I want to tell him and cancel mine and do something else. It just doesn’t feel special anymore I know it’s selfish but it was my anniversary too and I worked damn hard for those tickets!!!

It also stings bc I know for a fact how much she paid and knowing her it was well double so gooo me lmaooo😭😭😭
