Does anyone do Freelance Writing?

If so, any tips or tricks on how to get started? Im a naturally good writer and would love to make a few bucks doing something i love.

I was a freelance writer in my younger years. I had several notebooks full of stories that I had written but when we had a hurricane hit, I lost everything. 
I always wrote stories based upon my interests. I used to do online role play so all of my books and stories were revolves around those characters. I basically took each of my characters and wrote about who they were and where they came from. 
Just think about things you like or interested in. The types of topics or stories you want to write about. Do you like fiction or non-fiction then find something in that genre and brainstorm from there. Once you’ve got an idea in your head, maybe jot some things down and build from that.
