Anyone else stressing about Christmas?

Just venting. I am stressing hardcore about Christmas gifts. We just keep getting slammed with medical bills STILL. We have $400 due this month alone. We just found out my son has to get fitted for a helmet but it won't be until January so our insurance will start over. My husband needed new work boots and my son needed a convertible carseat. I haven't even started Christmas shopping because we are barely scraping by between medical bills and daycare. We make good money but it's just not enough right now. I feel bad because we have 31 people we usually buy gifts for but we can't afford to this year. My step sisters are giving my Mom and step Dad shit and making us feel like crap about it. We saved up money for 2 years to have a baby but it's extremely expensive...and my step sister has a baby so you'd think she would understand but she doesnt have to pay for daycare. Please tell me I'm not the only one who can't afford to buy for other people this year :(.

Ahh! I feel like 31 people is way too many even if you’re financially well off! Unless they are children that you’re close with they shouldn’t expect from you and if they do then that’s their own greedy little issue. I wouldn’t feel bad ❤️. Luckily, my close family is doing a Secret Santa couples edition this year so we’re only getting one gift. We will get some of the kiddos small stuff and I’ll probably start crafting and make close relatives something. I sold over $250 worth of old baby stuff that we don’t use anymore so my sons gifts are paid for and I’ll use leftover money for my boyfriends present. I don’t think anyone really expects anything from us though. People shouldn’t from you either, especially knowing you just had a baby!! I wouldn’t stress too much. Try and enjoy your first Christmas with baby! That’s what it’s all about 💕

Honestly, as much as I love gift giving, and I really do, it really is all about the kids! I quickly realized that after I had my first LO. As other mamas on here have said, I damn sure wouldn't worry about getting gifts for those 31 people! Idc how pissed off they may be! It's ridiculous to me that they would be upset about it at all! Times are tough, and they should understand that. I'm sorry they're making you feel bad over this nonsense. Sounds like they have some growing up to do if you ask me.

I wouldn’t stress it too much girl! If someone is upset that you didn’t get them a present they never deserved one in the first place. You have a baby. They should understand you have to save your money for him! If they don’t they are so selfish.

We aren't buying gifts this year and told everyone it's new baby year and money is tight and we are still trying to get a grip on finances and balancing everything out. Send them a card! I'm not racking up credit card debt just to please everyone else. They will all survive without an extra gift 😊 and dont feel bad about it either!

Yeah 31 people is crazy. We just do secret Santa on both sides of the family now and it’s such a relief. But even saying that my side just does $50 and my husband’s does one $50 and one $100 present so it’s still $400 with out even starting to think about each other and our baby.

Same. We opted out of gifts for the grown ups and are getting together instead. Only bought gifts for the kids. It’s saved a lot of money and time. I do feel bad about little things like not going as big as normal or that I’m a stay at home mom so I can’t get my SO something that he’s not paying for but I just have to roll with it.

In my family we decided to only buy for the kids and my husbands family we used to pick names but now we just do kids too which means we don’t have to do anything. You don’t have to buy for anybody if you can’t afford it, gifts are not what Christmas is about! I usually make a calendar with pictures of the kids and that’s like $100 to cover everyone.

Don't worry about gifting people other than those close to you. Your baby is a gift of life and should be considered their gift. Maybe take a camera and take pictures with each person print them a picture and boom "Merry Christmas ".
