Should I have asked if we were still on?

I met this guy on Tinder and we were doing pretty well I guess. Long story short one day when our messages were just becoming once a day good morning have a good day shittt- he asked me if we could see each other set up a date 5 days later and didn’t message at all not even on the intended date. I saw on his insta he was with his family?? Like ok so nothing. I gave it a week for him to say anything and he didn’t so I just blocked him on everything. I’ve been ghosted before for months so I was not going to do that again. So I guess my question is what would you have done?

Im in a better place atm with my boyfriend so this is just a what if situation :)
