Has anyone personally heard of NIPT getting gender wrong?

Em

I had NIPT testing done and everything came back as low risk and the gender as female. Obviously, I know that the probability of an inaccurate result is very low on these tests, but the chances are slightly higher when the test deems your baby to be a girl. I went in to see my MFM doctor this week for my NT test. Both the ultrasound tech and my doctor kept stressing that sometimes NIPT gets the gender wrong. I've been really happy about having a baby girl, but I would've been just as happy with a boy. I wasn't sitting there knitting pink booties and choosing names or anything that would've made them feel like they needed to stress that the tests aren't always foolproof! It just struck me as odd that both of them zeroed in on the results being occasionally wrong. It really started to make me wonder if they saw a little nub that made them feel the need to hedge their bets?

I'd really appreciate it if anyone has personal experience with misjudged gender results or if they personally know of a situation where the NIPT was incorrect! I'm not really concerned about this per say, I'm just really curious and I can't get it off of my mind.
