Has anyone on here switched their major to teaching...?

I am currently 21.

I started college at 18. My parents were abusive and I have had quite a traumatic childhood. They told me I couldn't live with them or move back in.

I started university and and got excepted into the nursing program.

Fast forward, I got pregnant and had to drop out with one year until graduation. I ended up miscarrying.

During that time, I really thought about my major and how much nursing stressed me out. Some nights I would stay up all night and only get 2 hours of sleep. Some nights I would pull allnighters.

Now I am taking one semester off and almost positive I am switching my major to early childhood education (4K or kindergarten teacher) or elementary education.

I love children and want to be a part of their learning and development. I just dont think nursing is what I thought it was... Being a teacher just fills my heart with so much joy..

My parents are very mad at me for wanting to switch.. my boyfriend and everyone else in my life supports me 100%.

Has anyone on here switched their major to education/teaching, is a teacher, or went from nursing to teaching...?

I am talking to a college advisor Monday.

Is this a horrible idea..?
