What does a blood clot feel like?

I'm worried I might have one, but can't tell if the pain I'm feeling is really any different from a strained muscle. Is that what it would feel like? 
Can anyone with first-hand clot experience tell me what it's like?

They’re generally hot to touch, they can cause a burning pain, sometimes a stinging pain. And if you think you have one. Please go get checked.... 
a friend of mine in October left what she thought could’ve been a blood clot; and it cost her hers and her unborn babies lives 😭 pulmonary embolism, shot from her leg into her heart.

Depends. Are you talking in your lung or leg kinda thing. Both require a hospital so I would go if you are worried but if it's lung you'd have problems breathing if it's  limb it will be red, hot, painful and will start to swell.
I'm a medic. I've never had one but I've seen them. Either way go see a doc

I’ve never had one but I just asked my mom and she said that’s exactly what it feels like. I’d go to the hospital to be checked for sure.
