Weight Gain

Jessica

Throughout the first half of my pregnancy, I started obsessing about avoiding weight gain. It got to the point that I would feel hungry and not eat. Since I didn’t want to cause harm to the LO I decided it would be best to stop weighing myself.

My doctor still weighed me, but they used Kgs and I didn’t know the exact conversion so it didn’t bother me much, although I knew I was gaining weight.

I’m 40w1d today, and decided to weigh myself as I will likely have weight to lose after baby arrives. Well... I must have let myself go in the second half as my total weight gain goal was 20lbs but instead I gained 32lbs.

I’m 5’5 and my starting weight was 164, and now it’s 196lbs.

So my question is this, since I am in the last stretch of pregnancy and baby is healthy, would it be okay to start dieting and exercising more while I wait for labor? Does anyone know of any potential problems if I do this?
