We made it!!
We went to L & D on Saturday night bc of 3-4 minute contractions. But as they monitored me, things seemed to get less regular. I find it so hard to distinguish—I was feeling just the same as my 3 minute contractions at 33 weeks (that was stopped). So on Saturday night we just thought we were going home as the nurse was super discouraging. We were at 36, scheduled to induce at 37-3.
Well my dr voted to keep me on observation, saying I was a 4 and also probably bc she knew I had just had preterm labor. I’m glad she did bc I probably was not coming back after feeling like my judgement was off lol. By Sunday my contractions increased again and I made it from 4-7 cm all by myself 🤗 they did start pitocin at that point to help speed it up (about 4 am then on Monday). We were so tired after 2 nights without sleep. I really struggled w discomfort even after my epidural as they were kicking way up high in my ribs I guess as they were trying to push out. But it was making me so nauseous, I couldn’t breathe, and I really think the rib pain this pregnancy has been so sharp and painful this pregnancy, I’d say worse than contractions. And bc I struggled so much to lay back, they were hesitant to boost my epidural that had worn off just before pushing lol. I finally laid back for long enough to get that second boost. At 8 or so they checked and found our boy’s head on its way out. My dr was fortunately there. He came out w half a push, 5 lb, 14 oz. I had to work hard to get her out sunny-side up 10 minutes later. She was 5 lb, 2 oz. They were born at exactly 37 weeks, on my twin due date.
I had spent most of my pregnancy expecting a c section as baby B had been breech. But just one week ago she turned and they changed my scheduled c section to an induction on Tuesday. After she flipped I really wanted a natural rather than induced birth. And for the most part I got that. So I’m grateful!!! And exhausted. But also relieved of all that twin pregnancy pain 😆😬🙌
