Almost 29 weeks, growth scan?

Question

My midwife wants me to come back in two weeks for a growth scan. I wasnt offered this in my previous pregnancy. All she did at the appointment was heartbeat check and measuring my belly. I also had 130/80 blood pressure reading. Im just wondering if anyone else was referred for a growth scan and what it entailed and also why their doctor may have recommended it? As excited as I am to see my baby boy again when I didnt think I would get to.. I am now nervous as to why Im getting this done this time but not last time.

I have them every pregnancy and my babies are all around 7lbs at birth. They always claim ill have a tiny baby but i never do. Only worry if its below 10% mark. Mines currently 15% my next scan is on xmas eve

Did you ask her if you measured small or too big or something like that as to why she wanted you to do another growth scan?

In Canada (well Ontario anyways) its common protocol for all women to have a 30 week scan to ensure everything is good to go. 
In my first pregnancy I had 30 weeks, 32 and 34, to gage the growth of the baby. It was decided based on this she had to come out a little over 37 weeks.
This time my OB sent me at 27 and a bit weeks to start measuring earlier as the expect another baby that is too large for me.

It could be because of your blood pressure after 20 weeks my blood pressure started to creep up and even tho yours Isn’t considered high (140 or higher is considered high) if it’s higher than what it’s usually been they just like to check on things when I went one of the things they told me was if it didn’t stop creeping up by 28 weeks they would do an ultrasound every two weeks till delivery because if your blood pressure is elevating it’s pumping the blood to fast threw the placenta and can cause the baby to not get all the nutrients causing the baby to not grow at the pace that they should so they do ultrasounds just to check on baby’s growth and to check the placenta now I’m not sure if that’s why but once my blood pressure hit 130 they started monitoring me  cause that was high for me it was usually 120 but I’m now 28 weeks and it’s stabilized and back to normal again fingers crossed it stays that way

I’m getting a growth scan at 28 weeks, only because I have a few health issues and take a medication that might stunt the growth of baby. But I’ve had a lot of friends get them as well and they had no real reason to get them :)

Mines having me do an ultrasound at 32 weeks as well. She says everything's fine with the baby so far m. Different offices may just have different protocols. My friend who had her baby in Oct had a 32 week scan as well.

Thank you ladies for your responses. I really appreciate the insights. Ill probably call her up to just check and see of its related to blood pressure, growth or just something they now routinely do.
