Stitches from vaginal tear during labour?

Question

I'm a little anxious about vaginal tearing during delivery and how much it will hurt to be stitched up straight after delivering my boy.. 
Can someone please tell me the process of being stitched up/repaired and help me understand what will happen etc? 
Also hoping to have a waterbirth so not sure if that makes any differance in the process, i have to leave the tub to birth the placenta

If you don’t have an epidural they will give you a numbing shot in the area. You shouldn’t  feel it and honestly you probably wouldn’t notice much if you did because you’ll be focusing on the baby.

I only knew I was being stitched up because I was watching the doctor do it. I had an epidural, but had it turned off a while before when I was pushing so I could semi feel things. It's not bad. You're too caught up in your new baby to even care.

I had 3 baby’s naturaly at home
My second i had a tear
I was so scared for the stitches 
I was a litle painful but
Wasnt as bad as i tought it would be !

If you aren’t numbed before stitches you will feel a pinch here and there. Like getting a shot but way less sensitive (at least it was for me). After pushing out a baby stitches r cake lol.

I had the epidural so didn't feel the needle they used to freeze nor did I feel any of the stitching. The doctor did puncture a blood vessel so I lost a lot of blood so I basicaly passed out but still it didn't hurt at all

I didn’t even know it was happening until they told me they were stitching me up. I had an epidural, and a 2nd degree tear. My midwife was done within like 5 minutes.
