I took a test before work two days ago ..

Okay so I took a test before work the other day (Tuesday) . I was rushing out the door late and vaguely looked at the test before leaving .. I completely forgot about the test until just now and I pulled it from the drawer and it shows a pink line.. could this be from sitting too long or was it actually positive and I didn’t wait long enough for the test to finish. I’ll test in the morning .. I am three days late on my period. Is this common if tests sit? The two tests above were from last weekend.
