If so how did you get rid of it and keep it from happening again?

I've never had this personally, you should seriously see a doctor to be sure you don't have a skin condition.
After seeing a doctor and IF they say it is simply acne then you could try a tea tree oil shampoo, they have a really good one at trader joes.
