When did you tell you significant other you loved them?

I’ve been dating this guy since June but we didn’t consider ourselves in a committed relationship until October. Recently, I’ve been getting the urge to tell him I love him at random times but I’m nervous it’s too soon and he will get scared or freaked out. Thoughts?

Apparently I said it in the middle of my sleep. I woke up (well opened my eyes a little), smiled at him and said I loved him then laid my head back on his chest. I have no memories of this (and he didn't tell me till about a month later) but it sounds right since I was in love with him at that point. The first time we said it while awake (lol) was at about 5 months into the relationship. Which is also when he told me what I had said in my sleep.

6-8 months. I had said it much earlier in prior relationships, but wanted to wait until I knew we were going to last a long time until I said it again.
