Can being on the pill for acne make it worse?

Can taking a pill for a while result in a resurgence of acne? Because I’ve been taking the pill for about 5 months and it cleared my acne up (the only reason I’m taking it for, there’s no way I could be pregnant) but now my acne is coming back hard:(

I have no idea, but I rarely broke out when I was on birth control my high school years, and the second I came off of it I experienced full blown cystic like acne for a year +. It’s like everything I was supposed to get in those years all came out at once. Now my skin is finally calming down. Just the occasional pimple here and there. I don’t think birth control is bad, but for some people I don’t think it’s the best thing. Had someone told me it would have done this to me I would have never taken it to begin with. But then again, the cause of acne varies for every person. Lots of things can contribute to it. But messing with my hormones intentionally is something I’m done with doing now. It also made me feel sick. Ask a dermatologist because it might be something else causing you to break out this time around!
