What happens before water breaking

Question

For any mama who’s water broke (quite obviously) did you have any warning signs or was it quite spontaneous/a shock?

My water broke with my first out of nowhere. Absolutely no signs before it happened. I thought I peed myself for a second. 😳

Ok so when I was 36 weeks, I was almost 2cm and then the day after my appointment I lost my mucus plug but I thought it didn't mean anything since sometimes women lose theirs and don't have their baby for weeks after. Well at 36+3 I had a normal day no contractions or warning signs and then my water just burst like dang water balloon and then contractions came on in just minutes! I went from a 2 to a 10 and had my baby in 2 and a half hours 😳

It only happens to about 10% of women prior to labor starting. And its usually a trickle because baby is so low. However, mine just gushed out like in the movies when I stood up to get the phone. 😂 I was also in the small percentage that did not go into labor after so I was induced the next day.

I woke up to mine breaking with no warning. It was a gush and I had baby 8 hours later.

I was only 30 weeks when mine broke. But it broke in the middle of the night. The only thing I had was a mucus like discharge for a few days before which apparently was my mucus plug.

Mine was a full on, straight out of a movie scene water break. I had been bouncing on a yoga ball all day, I knew I was in labor. 37 weeks along, my family thought I was joking. Then my water broke and I was like SEE! I wasn’t kidding! Lol

I actually didn’t know mine broke and it ended up resealing 😬 I thought I was peeing myself a little here and there. No warning signs or anything other than cramps and pressure.
