toxic relationship (need advice!)

so i never make posts but i would really like someone else’s opinion!!

i’m a freshman in college and have been involved in a super complicated yet non committed relationship with this sophomore. ( who so happens to be on my schools basketball team. so you know how that is lol) everything was going fine until a few weeks ago i found out someone asked him what was going on between us and he said “i’m just playing with her” which obviously hurt my feelings. he knows i know and we haven’t spoken since 😢.

since then he still watches my social media, and recently has even confronted his other teammate about a video i posted of him(the teammate) in my bed, and mind you, in the past he’s thought there was something going on between him and i.

i know this might seem silly but we’ve been talking since august and i don’t know if i should leave him alone or talk it out to clear the tension. because a part of me wants to atleast be friends with him.
