Any Montessori mama's out there?

I recently just switched up my lo nursery to a floor bed and did a pretty decent overhaul on room aesthetic. Im wondering if any other mamas have a floor bed, if you use the crib mattress or a regular twin. Also, how long does it take for them to sense the boundaries and not fall off the mattress. What did you use for the sides, another blanket, a mat?? Something to soften the floor when they get out. 
I must mention. He is crawling but when he wakes up hes a little disoriented from the different placement. We just did this 2 days ago so he doesnt quite have his wits about him to get up and crawl off the bed.

I’ve been hearing people talk about this more often and have been curious about it! Can you post a picture so I can see what it looks like in your nursery?
We are against sleep training (not saying anything is wrong with it but just not for us) and I would say we follow more of an attachment parenting style. We safely co-sleep (no judgement please) and our girl absolutely HATES her crib!! She will nap/sleep anywhere else except there. I’ve read mamas switching to this and wanted to know the benefit? So curious and would love to hear how it works for you! Good luck mama ❤️

I used the thin firm IKEA twin mattress so it’s only three inches high. It took her about three days to stop rolling off  - I used a thick low pile rug to soften any roll offs, which was extremely short-lived.

We chose a full mattress so that he could really grow into it since mattresses should last you at least ten years I wanted him to be a little more comfortable with a little bit of a bigger bed. It's only a 7inch mattress so it could be lower to the ground and when he crawls hes able to just crawl right offwithout falling at all. If you are wanting bumpers I reccomend putting a pool noodle under the sheets and that will make a sort of barrier so they dont roll off.

I’m using a floor bed. Didn’t with my first until he was a toddler so this age with it is totally new to me. I have a twin because the crib mattress seemed too tiny for a floor bed, I chose shorter mattresses to keep them lower, mine are 6 inches. He likes it sooo much better than his playpen and I like that I can lay next to him and snuggle when we’re reading books at bedtime, big brother can come in and join us too. My baby doesn’t crawl yet, just swirls around in circles so we haven’t had any issues yet. He twice accidentally rolled off his brother’s floor bed, though, and he didn’t register that anything happened lol he went on playing with whatever toy he had. I have a normal area rug around the beds.
