Okay so I was watching Gilmore Girls and the episode where Luke found out he had a daughter and the mother intentionally chose to never tell him. Should this be illegal?

Obviously if there is a history of domestic violence or child abuse that’s different. I also think that until the child is born the mother has a right to her medical privacy while pregnant. But if a child is born should the mother be legally obligated to tell the father they have a child?

I honestly think the mother keeping the child a secret is literal kidnapping.

What about if the mother doesn’t know who the father is? I guess there’s a lot to it but this poll is assuming that the mother knows who the father is and he’s perfectly capable of safely being involved in the child’s life.
