*trigger warning* do you agree this mom is “milking” her sons death for social media gain?

Question

So recently a mommy blogger when viral after posting that her son became ill out of nowhere and stopped breathing during his sleep the mom has documented everything since her son has entered the hospital. Her son has now passed away and people are finding it all disturbing. She has been posting, posing for pictures and even editing her pictures to match her Instagram feed aesthetic which people are giving her a hard time about. I blurred out all faces and names out of respect but I’m curious as to what you think? I think these comments are hurtful. I’m sorry if this offends anyone!

I don’t necessarily think she’s milking her sons death for views and monetary gain. I think she’s coping, in what we personally view, as very odd. Events like that effect people in ways we don’t expect. I think she’s a grieving mother who’s found a way to cope through social media. Would I do as she’s doing? No. But I’m not going to judge her for this either.

Yeah I don't think things like this belong on social media.
I understand because she has a following she might feel she has a duty or just a want to post all of this, but I also think that people would have went perfectly fine NOT having a play by play of her son's death.

Also, no one knows what’s happening beyond those pictures. No one knows that they’re set up. No one knows who actually editing them. No one knows. So ppl jumping down her throat for this, need to get a grip. She’s a grieving mother and I’m sure she’s doing the best she can in a situation she has no control of. She had posted that the reasons pictures are being taken is because unfortunately this is part of her sons life and she wants to have these memories because they are apart of her sons journey and her journey as his mother.

Everybody grieves differently and we aren’t anyone to judge how she’s handling it because we aren’t in her shoes and we’re lucky to not be in her shoes. She’s probably looking for support in a horrible situation and social media (because it is a huge part of her life already) is how she knows how to do that.

i’ve watched her videos and followed this story. i think this is her way of “venting.” youtubers use social media for almost everything and feel like they really connect with their viewers. i don’t think this situation was any different for her. this is a sad situation and she used her platform to get the support she needed.

I think since she’s on YouTube , she’s just being very open to what’s going on . Since she’s use to being open on her channel. To me personally I wouldn’t grieve so openly , but maybe this is how she’s grieving . She’s in pain and wants everyone to see it . This is the true darkness’s to losing a child,  and it’s scary to see it .
