Lots of entertainment! We brought our laptop and HDMI cord to watch Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. and my dad loaded up a USB drive with a bunch of movies for us.
We brought lots of snacks and drinks for my husband, and I brought coconut water for myself to drink during labor and snacks for after labor.
I brought a few pairs of fuzzy socks, 2 sets of pajamas, clothes to come home in, a postpartum girdle, cords for electronic devices, and toiletries so I could shower after the baby was born.
For the baby, I brought a hat, 2 coming home outfits (one NB and one 0-3 because I didn't know how big he would be), a swaddle, and a thick blanket to carry over the carseat when we were leaving the hospital.

I packed mine the day before my scheduled Csection.  Even if you are in labour, you have time to pack, so don't feel pressured to pack so far in advance. 
Mom: Lip balm, water bottle, robe, slippers, leggings, pillow!, dry shampoo and some makeup (don't need to look like a glam queen - but also you don't want to hate all of your first pics with the babe either), snacks- hospital food sucks!
Baby: diapers, wipes, cream (my hospital doesn't provide and charges a crazy amount if you use their's)
Going home outfit for you and baby.
Gift for nurses! I brought a basket of goodies from Costco. They loved it and gets you special attention.
If you think you'll need it...bring it! Who cares if it takes you one more trips to the car to get out. Better to have something than stress about not having it.
That being said my list of don't brings would include a laptop (your new baby and sleep is all the entertainment you need), a ton of clothes for baby (they are in swaddles the first few days), a variety of outfits for yourself ( you'll basically be in a robe tits out for the duration, just something nice to come home in). Personally I also found my breastfeeding pillow to be a waste.

Extra long phone charger, nursing tanks, nursing bras, robe, slippers, my travel bag for makeup hair and skincare, baby swaddles, a few baby outfits, baby hats.

Mines 95% done, I need to put PJs in there but I’m still wearing them, also phone chargers 
1. Comfy pjs that are breastfeeding friendly (if you plan on it) target sells button you soft pjs that are perfect 
2. Chapstick
3. Adult diaper/always underwear (I wasn’t a fan of the mesh panties so I’m bringing those to hospital)
4. Nursing bra
5. Nursing pads (forgot these last time and leaked on the way home lol)
6. Hygiene products (deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, etc)
7. I’m bringing my instax Polaroid camera like I did with my son- I have a picture of me before induced anxiety some after my son was born)
8. Chargers for phone 
9. Boppy/my own pillow

One thing we wished we’d brought with my first was an extra blanket(for me or my husband). Our hospital room was chilly!

if you labor and deliver in a separate room from postpartum recovery I suggest packing 2 bags I did that and left the recovery bag with all the baby stuff in the car till I was moved it made checking in easy! 
also bring an empty tote bag for checkout to bring all the things you take from the hospital- diapers wipes and all the post partum care items!

I've brought a few bits to go in it and I have most of the other stuff to go in and nearly brought babies complete going home outfit just need his special little hat and got his first onsie to wear once he's born and pretty much everything for his bag :)
