Is it okay for your boyfriend to keep memories (pics/videos) of other girls he has been with before you?

My boyfriend thinks I’m being crazy and ridiculous that I want him to delete his pictures and videos of his ex. I am curious to see your ladies opinions! Thanks :)

Me personally I’ve never made such a demand as I would not want it made on me.  My ex’s are ex’s for a reason and with some of them I did nice trips.  He is with me and we will make new memories.

I mean, I have pictures of my exes on my backup hard drive from my old computer lol (I got my new computer after I started dating my husband). I mean, I don’t keep them on my phone or anything but I’m not going to delete them from my hard drive. Doesnt mean I still have feelings for them, just that I don’t want to delete my memories...

Of course. Everyone is a sum total of their history and the people in it. I made some great memories with past boyfriends. Any future partner, who asks me to delete such things, will find themselves with a one way ticket out of my life. You can’t ask people to forget their past. A past alone is not a problem. It’s not a threat to your future.

I absolutely think it’s inappropriate to keep pictures and videos of exs if you’ve moved on and are in a new relationship 
That’s totally disrespectful 
I don’t get why people need to hold on to things in the past. I’ve never gotten into a new relationship while still having pictures of my ex’s 
And I wouldn’t be comfortable dating someone who refused to delete them either. 
Obviously he hasn’t moved on. 
There’s literally no reason at all to need to keep those

Anything sexual, yes. 
But I did mountaineering with my ex and would never want to delete those beautiful pictures just because he happens to also be in some of them. We had some amazing adventures. We were together 4 years....thats a lot of life lived together and a lot of pictures. If he asked, I would because he is way more important, but he would never ask because he knows it has nothing to do with the actual ex. 
My husband had a couple long term exes too. I couldn't ask him to erase those. It's not my place. Anyway... Memories will always be there whether there's a picture or not.

I think it’s all about your personal boundaries. I still have pictures and videos from my two most recent relationships, but I don’t ever go back and look at them. I had a very close friend die and we had no photos together, and I really regret that. So I never delete pictures of people anymore. So because I feel that way, it wouldn’t bother me if my boyfriend still had photos

What kinds of pictures and videos? I think this entirely depends on that because if my husband had some old pictures from school that he wanted to keep to show our future kids or something and his ex happened to be in them, I’m not about to ask him to throw them away just because he was with an ex in them. But if he had pictures like kissing, in bed with eachother, very intimate pictures saved that had no other meaning besides them two being together then no not ok !
