When to tell work?

I’ve been offered a one year contract with a school this year. I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant, and it has not been easy at all. The school is on their end of year break so I’ve been given heaps of time to get work ready for 2020.
When would you tell your employer you’re pregnant? My principle is not going to be happy at all..

I know in my school district they have a timeline that you must reveal any pregnancy needing maternity leave by. Mine was at the end of first trimester or 4 months along. You may want to look into Human Resources to see if you have to reveal by a certain time.

I honestly would tell them whenever I hit the 2ņd trimester 12-13 weeks

Wow that’s terrible your boss wouldn’t be happy for you. I would wait until I’ve publicly announced then and tell the boss after. Like announce publicly on a weekend, then come in Monday morning and talk to your boss. Idk how a principle would choose that attitude when working in a workplace that I’m guessing is a majority of women.

I’m a teacher and telling my principal tomorrow. I’m department chair and I told my other department chair that I’ll be out about 10 weeks at the beginning of next school year. I’m a permanent employee (textured) so my job is safe and I’ve already started thinking about how I’ll set up for my long term sub.
Where do you teach that you start school now? Maybe when you tell your principally have a plan laid out, like how a sub will take over. How many weeks do you plan to be out? What grade do you teach?
