Would your parents opinion change the way u feel about your spouse?

I don’t have this problem in my relationship but I’m watching this tv show “Hot and Heavy” and his mother didn’t want her son to married his gf because she was overweight

I couldn’t give a shit, its not their relationship. 
I will say though that if the majority of people you know, friends and family, don’t like your partner they definitely see something in them that you don’t and you need to listen before its too late.

I don’t have that problem. Not married, yet, but both our parents love the other. I know for a fact my parents are enjoying seeing the shift in my moods since we met, the way he makes me light up and treats my daughter, and his parents, along with sisters, enjoy having me around.

My parents hate my husband.  🤷🏽‍♀️ more power to them . They  are the ones missing out because he is great and they now will miss out on their daughters life and any time they might have had with grandchildren from us.

No, I've been through my parent's not liking someone I loved, and at this point, I wouldn't be so phased by their disapproval. It's my relationship, I can be with whoever I like. 
I don't have much respect for my parents judgment at this point. They liked the narcissist who was emotionally abusing me, even when I was concerned and came to my mom for help, because I was afraid of my boyfriend, she said being manipulative is normal in a relationship... and told me I was ruining my life when I left him...
But they didn't like a guy who treated me amazing, he had a bad reputation, somewhat understandably.. regardless they were wrong. But their opinion swayed me & I regret it.
My dad also told me not to date a very intelligent, creative & funny guy because he was "too short & couldn't protect me"... like, I protect me, wtf. His opinion really upset me, because I am short, and that guy was awesome. Also, my dad is short 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🙃 I also don't think it's a man's role to protect me.... 
I'd prefer they get along with who I'm with, but their priorities don't make sense to me. 
My partner now is amazing, I'm prepared to stay with him if they should ever decide he's not what they want for me. I decide that, I've made my choice. I love my parents, but they don't get what is right for me sometimes.
