New year , maybe a boyfriend ?

Hey guys I’ve been having a crush on the same guy for over a year now, and I feel like In that year I should’ve done something, and time is wasting. I really want him in my life. Every time I see him my heart skips a beat we never really talk but I see him always. I want to go talk to him but get shy when I’m near him. How can I start a conversation with him without being awkward?

Also would it be dumb if I tell my friend to give him my phone number and show him a pic of who I am.
