Help any suggestions? :/

Question

My 6 year old has to have dental surgery at the hospital on April 3rd it’s hard to say when baby will be born my last baby was born on his due date but the other were late so it’s hard to say where I will be at if I’m going by due date baby will be at least 2wks old, I feel so bad I might not be able to go I am trying to find a way to be there but it just seems impossible I’m very stern on breastfeeding this time (never worked out with the other kids) my mother in law offered to babysit but I don’t think I’ll have that much of a routine by then and I’m not sure if I can be pumping and give baby a bottle by then I absolutely do not want to take my newborn to a children’s hospital what do I do ladies I know my daughter is gonna want me there and I feel bad not going she’s never been put under anesthesia any ideas ladies or do I have to absolutely sit this one out?😭
They had an availability March 17th but that’s my due date and who knows when baby will come and I figure her spring break time will give her time to heal to I just don’t know ladies I’m devasted😕

I’m sure you will make the right decision mama! But my daughter has to go for surgery Feb 3rd, and although the baby won’t be here, if she was I would still go with my older daughter and try to give her as much attention on that day/recovery as possible for a couple reasons a) it’s a big thing for them to go under and they’re nervous so it’s to make it all the easier on them b) I wouldn’t want my daughter feeling any types of bad feelings about me not being there because of the baby I talked over with a therapist to help my bad anxiety about her surgery and she gave me so much intel on the child’s view I didn’t even consider. It’s a tough decision but if you can try to work out a set schedule for that day it might be possible, pump while there, or work up a couple days before pumping to have a couple bottles for the time you’re away and get the baby from your MIL whenever you are done there!

I completely understand wanting to be there for your 6 year old during surgery, then on the other hand not wanting a newborn at the hospital. 
It sounds like having the surgery at the time of your 6 year old’s spring break is what will ultimately be best for her and give plenty of healing time. 
Is dad in the picture or able to help? You and dad could always go with your 6 year old until she is put under, and meanwhile have your mother/mil babysit the newborn at home. 
If surgery takes longer than anticipated you would have the ability to go back home to nurse, or you can always pump while at the hospital. And since dad came with you he’ll be 100% available while you make sure the breastfeeding portion gets taken care of. 
It takes a village! But that’s what I would do most likely.

I would either a. Talk to your doctor about being induced (both of my OBs I’ve had will induce at 39 weeks electively for any reason) or b. Just bite the bullet and have tour MIL watch the baby or BOTH. you probably won’t have a routine. It’s a newborn. But your newborn will sleep and eat and not have separation anxiety so that’s your best option
