Whats your birth plan and why??

Im 31 weeks and I’m so unsure. I originally wanted to go for an epidural but at the same time, i want to try without one because i don’t want to have to deal with the numbing, the needle, any risks, tearing, and so on. But then again, I’ve heard how painful it is without it. 😭 in so terrified of child birth. Can someone please help me out

Depends how fast labor is going! I’m trying not to have a ‘plan’ and be open to what my body and I need emotionally as well as physically!
Epidurals can help speed up labor and relax you and give you time to rest before the main event!

Look up hypnobirthing and join a class. It's not hypnosis but mindful meditation. It really helps release any negative thoughts and allows you to accept that your body was made for this. It worked wonders for my first delivery and I just took my first class this week for #2. I'm doing another homebirth.

Water birth, dimmed lights, music, my mum and best friend as my birthing partners, no episiotomy, forceps, ventouse or C section unless medically necessary, just gas and air like I did with my oldest, delayed cord clamping, and the 'golden hour' for skin to skin and to initiate breastfeeding 😁💙 although I know it doesn't always go to plan 😊

I’m just gonna go with the flow. If I need pain meds or a epidural I’ll take them but if not I’ll go natural. I do know I want to labor as long as possible in the bath tub/jacuzzi at the hospital and I would love to be able to push on all 4s but other than that as long as my little man gets here healthy idc how it happens 🌈💙🤰🏼👶🏻

I'm having a c-section because of a neurological disorder I have, but even beforehand I didn't really have a birth plan. I was just planning to take it as it comes.

It’s ok. Breathe. 
My last two I went natural. One I had morphine with the other nothing. I plan to get morphine this time but if I can’t then I’ll just breathe through it. 
It’s painful. Once I reached about 8cm dilated that’s when the contractions got worse and supposedly the pitocin they give you to speed up labor intensifies the contractions. Yes they were very painful but once baby is out all the pain goes away.

I wanted a water birth originally, I still do, however no hospitals in my area do water births. However,they do allow you to labor in a tub, so I’m hoping with that, that I’ll be able to make it through with out an epidural. I’m also just as terrified of child birth, especially since it’s all out of my control what happens. But the pain is what worries me along with the potential tearing, episiotomy, and c-section. All things I would much rather go with out. Here’s to our bodies being able to handle the pains of childbirth.

My plan is no epidural. I had one with my first and went without one with my second. My labor and delivery was so much quicker and easier without the epidural. I was able to push more efficiently because I could feel what my body needed to do. If you really want to go without an epidural I suggest reading up on coping techniques. I used the bath for like 3-4 hours with mine and it was soothing and I was able to relax more. Then when it came time to pushing I used a method I read about a few days before birth that suggested imaging every muscle in your body relaxing and then breathing the baby out. It helped me a lot with contractions as I transitioned and pushed.  I also had great support from my husband, midwife, and delivery nurse which I think made a huge difference.

I planned all natural and ended up with an epidural cuz something told me i needed it and I'm glad i listened cuz i had bad tearing and a forceps birth but that aside the epidural really wasnt bad at all. Once you are in that much pain the epidural is nothing. I was able to get up and move right away. I felt nothing when it came time to push at all. The second time I was able to feel when i needed to push and that was really nice but i was very comfortable i think going natural would be great and i plan to try again but the epidural makes the experience a lot more relaxing

Csection for a few reasons. The biggest one being that I have excessive scar tissue build up from my first one 11 years ago, was planning to have it removed prior to finding out we were expecting. The build up makes having a vbac more dangerous. Second most important reason is my s/os job can send him anywhere in the country at any time so knowing when baby will be coming helps him to actually be present for the birth of his first child. And third, my first csection even tho it was an emergency I recovered really easily from and never experienced labour so I don’t have a fear of having a scheduled one this time
